 | What type of materials are used in manufacturing the
bottle and cap?
 | The bottle is made from a low density FDA approved polyethylene plastic
and the cap is made from FDA approved polypropylene plastic. |
|
 | What materials are used in manufacturing the filter?
 | The SPORTS30 filter is a Porous Molded Coconut shell carbon with a
polyethylene inside. The filter is impregnated with proprietary absorbent medias
which enhance the filters absorption and adsorption ability. |
|
 | How is the filter made?
 | A pour Molded process using HEAT and PRESSURE are used to produce the
filter. The exact media formula and cure time are two most critical elements
required to ensure that each filter is produced uniformly and with exact absolute micron
rating. |
|
 | Why is the SPORTS30 filter better than other types of
water filters?
 | First - The SPORTS30 filter is manufactured using a process that allows
consistent uniformly for each and every filter both in media and absolute micron rating. |
 | Second - In addition to being a carbon filter, the SPORTS30 also
incorporates absorbent medias for the effective reduction of heavy metals such as lead,
cadmium, zinc, mercury and copper. |
 | Third - Due to the binders used and the manufacturing process the
SPORTS30 filter does not crack or seam which would allow water to channel or take the path
of least resistance. |
|
 | What type of contaminates does the SPORTS30 reduce?
 | The SPORTS30 has shown a very strong reduction performance for Volatile
Organic Compounds, Orgnochlorine Pesticides, Turbidity, Radiological, Cysts and Bacteria
(Cysts and Bacterial through mechanical filtration). |
|
 | How does the Sports 30 filter work?
 | The SPORTS30 works in three ways: |
 | 1. Adsorption - The physical process occurring when liquid, gases
and/or suspended matter adhere to the surface of an adsorbent medium such as carbon. |
 | 2. Absorption - The process of one substance actually penetrating
into the structure of another substance |
 | 3. Mechanical Filtration - The physical separation and removal of
suspended solids from a liquid - mechanical (physical) means rather than by chemical
means. |
|
 | How is the SPORTS30 filter bonded to the unit?
 | The SPORTS30 is bonded to the unit with an FDA food grade Hot Melt.
The hot melt is specially formulated to ensure a proper bond is met between the
polypropylene and polyethylene. |
|
 | Will the SPORTS30 kill bacteria and cysts?
 | It does not kill bacteria or cysts...it traps the bacteria and cysts
mechanically due to the 2 micron absolute filter rating. |
|
 | How many gallons of water will the SPORTS30 treat?
 | 200 gallons or 850 refills before replacement. |
|
 | Who tested the performance of the SPORTS30 product?
 | 1. Broward Testing Laboratories - Division of National Testing
Laboratories |
 | 2. County of Los Angeles California, Department of Agriculture |
 | 3. CTL = Environmental Laboratory (The above listed laboratories
performed their evaluation using strict analytical testing protocols approved by the
United States EPA). |
 | BioVir Micro biological Laboratories. |
|
 | Why is a check valve needed in the filter?
 | The check valve restores the atmospheric pressure in the bottle - thus
keeping the bottle from building up a vacuum inside, which would make it difficult to use. |
|
 | What material is the check valve made from?
 | A pharmaceutical grade valve from FDA approved polypropylene plastic is
used. |
